University Village or UV is a series of apartment buildings on South Campus that are located on Small Road and Colvin Street. There are five apartment buildings in UV that contain four bedroom four bath apartments, two bedroom two bath apartments, and a community center that is also the leasing office. UV has its own free parking that is not part of Syracuse University Parking Services. Information on rates and lease terms can be found at UV’s page.
The only bus route that goes through University Village is the 344 South Campus route. The schedules for these routes can be found on Centro’s page. There are two bus stops that service Slocum Heights: Small/ Lambreth and Small/ Slocum.
Two types of apartments can be found in University Village. All apartments come fully furnished and include extended basic cable, WiFi access, 24/7 maintenance. The two bedroom apartments contain two private bathrooms with bathtubs, a laundry room, a great room, a kitchen with breakfast bar, and a storage closet. The four bedroom apartments contain four private bathrooms with bathtubs, a kitchen with a breakfast bar, two storage closets, a laundry room and a great room. In all UV apartments the bedrooms are the same size.
University Village has a community building on 315 Small Rd. This building is also where the leasing office is located. Some of the amenities in this community center include a computer lab, printing service, lounge, game room, study rooms, tanning dome, theater room, fitness center, and vending machines. This is also were the mail service is located. Syracuse University Mail Services does not provide for UV. Other amenities that are run through this community center are resident events, movie and game rentals. The main bus stop for UV is located in front of the community center.
University Village is owned by EdR, a real estate investment trust with more than 30 private housing communities in 23 states. EdR runs collegiate housing and their corporate office is located in Tennessee. The UV apartments are available for 9.5 month and 11.5 month leases. Again, information on rates and lease terms can be found at UV’s page. A select few UV apartments are available for lease through Syracuse University Housing as part of the Housing Lottery. This is the result of high demand for housing options run by Syracuse University as well as growing enrollment. 37 of the four bedroom four bath apartments are available through the Housing Lottery and payment for these apartments is made through the Syracuse University Bursar Office. Housing through EdR is paid on a monthly schedule either online or in their leasing office.
University Village has private laundry facilities in all apartments and utilities are included in rent as long as are not excessive. Each apartment is equipped with a full sized washer and dryer.
University Village has handicap accessible apartments located on ground floors. These apartments have accessible bathrooms, larger door frames to accommodate wheel chairs, automated doors for the apartment building and accessible sidewalks. The community center is also completely accessible. The only issue in accessibility for UV is that all apartments lack elevators.
